Pathways at Kindeva
Stories of our people growing with purpose and shaping the future of healthcare.
Progress at Kindeva starts with people. As our teams learn and grow, they help fast-track healthier tomorrows for patients.
Our Pathways at Kindeva blogs share how colleagues across the business are advancing their careers and contributing to innovation in drug delivery and beyond.
In this story, we meet Lauren Harrison, a formulation scientist who began her path as an apprentice and has spent the last decade building a career rooted in curiosity, hands-on learning and collaboration.
A decade of growth and opportunity
Lauren joined Kindeva straight from secondary school as a Level 3 apprentice. Over the years, she progressed through a Level 5 qualification, completed a chemistry degree at the University of Nottingham and gained experience across different teams.
Reflecting on her development, she emphasizes how much she has learned from the people around her and how each stage built her confidence.
“When I think about my journey, it is the continuous learning and the chance to work with so many different people that stand out the most. Each step has helped me build confidence and develop my skills.”
Her progression shows how practical experience, supportive colleagues and structured learning can shape a long-term career.
A varied and collaborative scientist role
Today, Lauren works as a formulation scientist focused on pressurized metered dose inhalers (pMDIs). Her work spans hands-on formulation in the laboratory, detailed data analysis and collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
“A typical day is quite varied. I might be performing complex formulation calculations and manufacturing aerosols in the laboratory, or be in the office analyzing, interpreting and reporting data. Ultimately, as the technical lead on a feasibility project, I need to be able to draw on my knowledge and that of the specialist team around me to deliver a successful outcome for the customer.”
She enjoys the mix of practical science and problem solving, and values the fact that each project brings something new.
“What I love most is having different opportunities and learning something new every day.”
This learning-led and collaborative approach is central to how Kindeva continues Manufacturing More Tomorrows™ for patients through thoughtful and rigorous innovation.
Research, sustainability and transforming tomorrow
A major milestone in Lauren’s career came from her work on sustainable inhalation technologies. She contributed to research on low global warming potential (GWP) next-generation propellants (NGPs), exploring density measurements and collaborating closely with colleagues across the business.
“Completing my research and presenting it at the Drug Delivery to the Lungs (DDL) conference was a key moment for me, especially being able to share my findings that support the ongoing development of more sustainable alternative products in inhalation therapy.”
Her work on low-GWP NGPs contributes to Kindeva’s environmentally-focused innovation, helping advance technologies that support patients while minimizing environmental impact.
As her career has progressed, Lauren has also supported early-career colleagues, encouraging them to make the most of the opportunities around them.
“My advice for someone starting a career at Kindeva would be to collaborate with the people around you, learn from them and don’t be afraid to ask questions.”
Her perspective captures the collaborative culture that helps people grow at Kindeva and contributes to innovations that are transforming tomorrow for patients.
Building a meaningful career while fast-tracking healthier tomorrows
Lauren’s journey from apprentice to formulation scientist shows how curiosity, resilience and shared learning can shape a fulfilling long-term career. Her experience brings to life what it means to grow with purpose at Kindeva and contribute to science that fast-tracks healthier tomorrows for patients.
